New Business
Time was spent in small groups developing a SMART Goal for the four areas that we are focusing on this year.
Curriculum & Programs:
NASC will provide an organized space online to share curriculum resources.
  • We (subcommittee) will start by organizing our content area area folders
  • Get people to take time to organized other content areas
  • Get some people to upload resources
  • Get all staff from schools to upload resources - through PLC? - train people to use, implement using
Professional Development:
NASC will offer multiple professional development opportunities for participating school districts each school year.
  • Edcamp
  • MLK Day
  • Opportunities hosted by other districts (ACTION ITEM: add a calendar to the NASC website/agenda items at meetings to share district-specific PD offerings)
Educational Technology:
By the end of the 2016-2017 school year the NASC committee will develop and administer a common technology evaluation tool to assess the integration of technology at our schools.
  • Develop a google forms survey for students and staff grades 3-12 to take regarding the success satisfaction with technology.
Professional Learning Communities:
Goal: How can we (NASC) facilitate PLCs across all districts
S: Facilitate collaboration amongst teachers across districts
M: Keep track of meeting dates
A: Provide resources - some/most schools are already doing something
R: More collaboration creates stronger teachers = outcomes
T: One school year

Other:
A online book club was discussed and members were encouraged to share information. The book is titled "The Inovators Mindset" by George Couros. Information on this can be found here: http://immooc.org/
