  • Creative Sub solutions?
    • Some districts have raised sub pay
    • Cloquet has started a Subs committee which provided training and resources.
    • Some schools pay teachers to sub on their prep
    • Administrators will sub once in a while
    • Teachers are encouraged to put in for days off in advance (as soon as they know)
    • Check-in with subs, make sure they feel welcome
    • 1:1 schools could use their online curriculum and combine or cover large numbers of students in a large area.

Review Gathering of Great Minds survey results and committee comments;
Feedback Review:
  • Biggest feedback theme was not to have it every year (2021 Keynote Speaker is already booked for the entire day @ Moose Lake)
    • Possibly split the day between districts (Elementary/High School, or grouping schools into half/half)
    • Keynote could be presented twice to cover two groups
    • Half-day vs. Full-day
    • Pam is checking with speaker about two keynotes
    • We will check with the administration about possible changes
    • Jennifer will check on food for next year (620) Joe Jitters?
    • 8:30-11:30 & 12:00-3:00
    • NASC Committee lunch
  • We need to know by May 2020 to choose a new day for GGM 2022. (maybe Friday b4 mlk)
    • Looking at dates for 2022: Friday before MLK day (January 18th) or Monday after (January 24th), Friday after (January 21st)
  • Common complaints about lunch/food
  • Possibly add mental health for teachers

Discussion on Goals/Committees
  • The collaboration committee felt that there was overlap with the staff development committee.
  • Are we wanting to break up into committees? Perhaps be more task based.
  • Start meetings by creating goals for the meetings, or perhaps end the meeting coming up with goals for the next.
  • Workload changes as year progresses
  • Do we serve as a marketing group for our districts?
  • Do we need to meet regularly?
  • Flexible meetings (face to face, Google Meet, discussion board.

Goals
  • New science standards; training and/or support
  • CTE grant
    • Career Fair?
  • Cultural Competency
  • EDCAMP
  • GGM
    • Book Study
