Members from Carlton, Wrenshall, Esko, McGregor, Moose Lake, Cromwell and Barnum were presents.

1. Welcome from Moose Lake School. Mr. Indihar and Mrs. Steen welcomed the committee. Updates where shared on Moose Lake's building project that will break ground this summer. Moose Lake is rolling out a Chromebook 1:1 to selected grades.

2. Discuss curriculum writing
Jen Hoffman from Esko attended a MPCC curriculum writing session. They have 6 elements that they focus on: Mindset, Equality/Diversity, Copyright, Technical Aspects, Accessibility, and Content.
MPCC is willing to help us (NASC) with writing our own curriculum. A format for compensation and organization is still needed by us.
$35 per hour, 30-100 hours is the current MPCC stipend. Usually 5 teachers per team.
MPCC is willing to come up to us or video chat with us for more information.
Jen is willing to talk with with individual groups about the process.
MPCC currently has 189 districts involved.
There is a new subscription for districts that want to get more than the 4 core courses.

3. Discuss setting common PLC time
Looking at making a recommendation for all NASC schools to share a common PLC time. This might help with admin, school boards, teachers, and families. Districts might not be able to all adjust, but maybe it could be something they work towards.
To help keep everyone informed, perhaps there could be minutes or agendas.
A suggestion was brought up for weekly themes, or perhaps just once a month vs. every week.
Another suggestion for shared half-days for districts that choose to participate.

4. District updates
McGregor is looking at going to a 1:1 digital learning environment. They are still in the planning stages. It was highly suggested to visit other schools and see what they are doing.
School webpages and parent resources were discussed. It was suggested to visit other school websites and find what resources they are sharing. Eden Prairie and Minnetonka were mentioned as good examples.

5. Other?
Possibility meet during August to help promote 2015-2016 collaboration. It was decided that this wasn't a viable plan.
Looking into a line of communication between the Multi-District committee and the NASC committee. Would like to see a digital focus at next years inservice.

Next Meeting:
September 24, 2015 @ Wrenshall School
