Educational Technology:
Goal: By the end of the 2016-2017 school year the NASC committee will develop and administer a common technology evaluation tool to assess the integration of technology at our schools.
  • Develop a google forms survey for students and staff grades 3-12 to take regarding the success satisfaction with technology.
Pi Day Update:
Create an assessment to find out where staff is at. Cloquet provided an example.
Introduces the ISTE Standards.
Use the collected information to help guide PLCs and trainings.
Here is the survey: https://goo.gl/forms/lZUXFCHKf5DNyMhp2

Professional Development:

NASC will offer multiple professional development opportunities for participating school districts each school year.
  • Edcamp
  • MLK Day
  • Opportunities hosted by other districts (ACTION ITEM: add a calendar to the NASC website/agenda items at meetings to share district-specific PD offerings)
Pi Day Update:
Shared calendar for Professional Development opportunities.
Edcamp 2017: Looking at doing full day. Afternoon would be PLC and/or movie (Most Likely to Succeed)
Randi will contact Nikki about MLK day connection with this committee.
Possibly all NASC members have access to calendars with notifications (Evan is on it)

Collaboration:

Goal: How can we (NASC) facilitate collaboration across all districts?
S: Facilitate collaboration amongst teachers across districts
M: Keep track of meeting dates
A: Provide resources - some/most schools are already doing something
R: More collaboration creates stronger teachers = outcomes
T: One school year trial
Pi Day Update
Focus on the collaboration instead of the PLC process
Start with small groups to get people interested and have successful encounters.
Business teachers have already done this on their own.

Other:

Invite MLK day coordinators to next NASC meeting.
What can all schools agree to in regards to activities that NASC will coordinate? This question will go to the superintendents to get a sense of what each district is able or willing to do.
