Introductions Welcome to the new members (Ballie, Charlie, and Pamela) Member changes will be communicated to Evan to update the contact list. NASC Vision/Mission/Governing Review Discussion about the use robust curriculum in our mission statement. Below is our suggested replacement.
NASC Collaboration Day - October 19th, 2016 Sub committee met this morning Logo has been created Gather in Moose Lake Google Form has been created to gather topics (needs to be filled out for attendance number). Filled out and submitted by October 7th. Kickstarting in the Auditorium Cloquet teachers have the option to attend 3-45 minute sessions Discussion about what teachers will be doing in the afternoon. Some administrators may want their staff back in the afternoon. Get information on the NASC webpage. Discussion on taking staff attendance. Looking for a way to provide coffee/rolls. There will be a Twitter hashtag. Reminder to introduce EdCamps to our staffs. Matt W. is willing to help if needed. NASC Shared PLC TImes Cloquet is looking at using the 4th Wednesday of each month for the shared PLC. (10/26/16, 11/23/16, 1/25/17, 2/22/17, 3/29/17, 4/26/17, 5/24/17) Esko and Carlton are looking at using the same model. Wrenshall and Barnum have Wednesday morning PLCs. Willow River does not have PLCs. Cromwell was not in attendance to discuss their PLCs. Special Education Coop is looking to utilize some of these share times for training. It would be helpful to organize and post some of the collaborative opportunities for all districts. Possibly have a tab on the webpage with opportunities. MPCC Update Will have a representative a the next meeting for discussion. Bring feedback. McGregor 7th grade social is using it along with his own resources. Encourage staff members with concerns or feedback to attend next NASC meeting. MPCC still needs writers and reviewers. NASC Coordinator/Chair/Facilitator Organize communications Maintain website Organize agenda/meetings Looking at proposing a stipend. ($2000 was proposed) Discussed adding a Facilitator and Vice Facilitator to run meetings. These positions would be one year each, with the vice chair taking the chair on year two. Aaron will bring this to the next Superintendent meeting in October. Contact List Update Is it being used? Sounds like it is. Updates sent to Evan or updated by each district. It would be nice to have this done before the NASC Collaboration Day (10/19/16).
